Teaching

I have taught the following courses. Selected course materials are available on my GitHub site.

Resources

I have compiled an index of resources related to data science for economists. It consists of a set of links to useful websites I have come across in recent years, organized by topic. The index focuses on resources for coding languages and tools (e.g., Python, R, Stata) and data science techniques (e.g., machine learning, geospatial analysis), but also includes a small number of links to resources for causal inference and some miscellaneous other resources.

For applied microeconomic researchers interested in economic development issues in African countries, I will highlight work that I contributed to at the Evans School Policy Analysis & Research Group (EPAR) to harmonize and curate a set of agricultural development indicators across LSMS-ISA countries and waves. The code for this is hosted in a public GitHub repository, along with links to details on indicator construction decisions. Code is available for the LSMS-ISA surveys in Ethiopia, Malawi, Nigeria, Tanzania, and Uganda. This is a very useful public good that may help researchers quickly create many relevant variables and speed up the process of working with these rich datasets.
